Ajay Bhargava

Dr. Ajay Bhargava, a highly accomplished professional, serves as the VP of Biology at NorthEast BioLab. With extensive drug discovery and cancer biology expertise, Dr. Bhargava is well-versed in various bioassay techniques, including ELISA, Meso Scale Discovery (MSD), Luminex Multiplex, qPCR, and molecular biology platforms. His proficiency also encompasses cell biology, high throughput screening, in vivo Xenograft models, PK/PD relationships, and biomarkers for mechanism-of-action studies.

Demonstrating outstanding leadership, Dr. Bhargava has successfully guided several projects from target identification to phase I clinical trials. Notably, at NorthEast BioLab, he has developed and validated numerous GLP-compliant immunoassays for pharmacokinetic analysis of biotherapeutics, adhering to FDA guidelines. Additionally, he has evaluated anti-cancer compounds using various assays, such as proliferation assays, mechanism of action assessments (including phosphoprotein western blot and cytoblots), RGD binding assays, and tubulin polymerization assays.

Previously, Dr. Bhargava held a senior research investigator position at Bayer Pharmaceuticals for an impressive 13-year tenure. He also completed a postdoctoral fellowship in Molecular Biology at Yale University, following the successful completion of his PhD at the renowned Indian Institute of Science, Bengaluru.
